It is quite reassuring to see the amount of people and organizations who are active in this fight against dog fighting. I feel it is necessary to introduce some of these people because they are a large part of my resources and allies that I know I can look to for help and support in my fight.
One group that has been incredibly helpful to me already is the Animal Legal and Historical Center, which offers an incredible amount of statistics regarding legal status of states and information on recent raids and dog fighter profiles.
Of course the Humane Society of the United States has contributed greatly in the past and continues to do so in the fight. One man whose name you will most likely be hearing in my blog is John Goodwin. This amazing man contributed largely in the Michael Vick case while working with the Humane Society in Washington D.C. He is aware of the "hot beds" for dog fighting and is commonly referenced in many dog fighting news stories.
One woman, who I admire after just a few visits to her site, www.pitbullontheweb.com, is Veronique Chesser. She is completely dedicated to this fight and creating awareness of the horrifying truth. She is a complete inspiration and I can only hope that I will be able to offer the passion and information that she does.

John Goodwin, the man you call "amazing" is anything but.
Would you like me to send you some photos of Goodwin in his Animal Liberation Front (ALF) attire? This is when he referred to himself as "JP" Goodwin.
Previously of the Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade (CAFT), Goodwin dropped out of high school to pursue protests. He has stated "My goal is the abolition of all animal agriculture." He’s developed a lengthy arrest record in pursuit of that goal.
He was arrested and convicted for being the ringleader of a crew that vandalized fur retailers in multiple states during the 1990s. The animal-rights watchdog newspaper Animal People News profiled Goodwin in 2000, noting that he “gleefully announced a string of Animal Liberation Front mink releases and arsons against furriers and fur farms” while a “spokesman” for the underground terrorist group.
Goodwin really shocked the public with his comments on the March 1997 arson at a farmer's feed co-op in Utah. Referring to a fire that caused almost $1 million in damage and could easily have killed a family sleeping on the premises, Goodwin told the Deseret News, "We're ecstatic."
Obviously, it must not be of any consequence to check the resume of HSUS employees prior to employment. Perhaps "underground terrorist" was a qualification mentioned under job description.
To become the "top dog" in the HSUS campaign to wipe out animal fighting, JP's criminal past and his danger to national security must have been overlooked. The FBI considers ALF a much greater danger than dogfighting.
Possibly the following John Goodwin quotes appeared on his resume and piqued the interest of Wayne Pacelle, his employer.
"It's time for the animal rights movements to take this [fur] industry and drive the final nail into the coffin by whatever means it takes." (World Congress for Animals, June 1996)
"We have found that civil disobedience and direct action has been powerful in generating massive attention in our communities ... and has been very effective in traumatizing our targets." (National Animal Rights Convention, June 1997)
Please let me know if you would like more information on this "amazing" man.
Whoa. You seem to really be passionate about this topic, and just reading your posts makes me more passionate about the topic as well. And in regards to the previous comment, I think it is perfectly acceptable for you to call someone "amazing" in the context of your topic and your passion. I certainly wouldn't worry about i.
